PAPER BOAT

My Master made me, I’m a new paper boat.

Several other boats He made, we all can float.

We are all happy as we are unique and beautiful;

Everything is calm, pleasant and peaceful.

I need to serve my purpose, I’m not here in vain,

He placed me on water without any strain.

I see the smile on His face, my purpose fulfilled,

Happiness in both of us and my heart is filled.

Soon I realized the ambiance had changed,

Unpleasant, as the water looked enraged!

Pushed and tossed but no place to escape,

Wondering if this is a result of misplace?

In this tumult I find several others like me.

We are placed in juxtaposition I can see.

There are several boats who couldn’t bear,

Therefore, allowed the water to fill, kill and tear.

I’m like them, just another feeble paper boat,

But I see a big difference that others don’t.

I’m not a quitter but a warrior, so I’ll go further.

However, to endure this, I need someone bolder.

Many others endured these boisterous waves,

Reached the shore with a great embrace.

I see their waymarks on the water’s formless body,

I learn the answer, I can seek help from somebody.

They sought the Master and reached that border

Now that I have the answer, I will follow my Master

I’m suffering, so I look at His face wondering,

Does He smile while I’m here still suffering?

No smile but I see perfect peace on His face

It melted my heart and I got back to my pace

Why didn’t I seek my Master who made me?

Lift up my head to know that He’s beside me?

It makes me feel bad that I had lost focus,

Too much to worry that I forgot my purpose.

I’ll refocus to fulfill my purpose to make Him smile.

Until then, I will keep looking at Him and survive.

I’ll Wait till the day He will pick me up a paper boat,

Whether from the water or the shore I’ll still boast,

Smile at those boats that along with me will arrive,

Share stories on how the Master helped us survive.

Oh! The life of this paper boat will have to continue,

Until the day the Master takes me home and all is new!
